wanted to post more from this weekend's session, with a sweet little six year old boy who no longer had a fever! had a great time, again. this family is such a blessing. such amazing kiddos and they are that way due to two great parents. thanks for letting me have ANOTHER of your afternoons!!

this family is amazing. they have/are raising SEVEN of the most polite well mannered beautiful children i have come across in a long time. and currently their three youngest are ALL under three! i was so blessed by visiting with them today and watching their oldest kids serve the youngest kids, just a wonderful example of a home that loves the Lord. and this is a plea for prayer for this young family. the precious mom you see in these photos is battling breast cancer. pray with us for healing for her body, peace for her family, strength for her and her husband physically, emotionally and spiritually. this family is suffering well and knows that God is in control and are an inspiration to everyone around them. please lift them up in prayer. and you'll notice there are only six kids in these pics.. the oldest son was sick today, but don't worry, we're gonna go capture him when he feels better!

AND i wanted to explain the chalkboards.. mom took the board and wrote one word to describe that child, and then the kiddo had to guess. it was super cute to watch... and snap... :)

though still on maternity leave, i had the privilege to capture this little one a few days ago. nine days old, and just absolutely darling. you should have SEEN his nursery! his very talented grandmother (who MIGHT be one of the sweetest women i have ever met and who makes the best banana bread in the world), made all of his bedding, and i could have SWORN that ethan's mommy must have paid at least a thousand dollars for it at the fanciest baby boutique in town! it was wonderful to meet you ashley and stephen, and this little guy is just beautiful. so fun to hang out with y'all, even though i had to take a few advil and a nap afterwards! (yea, not quite ready to re enter the photo world! well, my body isn't anyway!)

oh and p.s. i seriously cannot believe how amazing ethan's mommy looks nine days after giving birth. i mean, i'm 8 weeks out and am not even CLOSE to looking like her! way to go ashley! i'll try not to be bitter about it...grrr...

i had the pleasure of photographing the teensiest little early early baby girl, named violet. violet's mommy and i had due dates that were only a couple weeks apart, but this little one decided to come more than 4 weeks early. she is 5 days and 5 pounds in these images. and she is GORgeous. you may remember her STUNNINGLY handsome big brother caleb in this post. these people make ridiculously beautiful children. and i am so lucky to get to capture them. violet is now the owner of the cutest tiniest tutu and headband made by another friend of mine, ruth. her shop is called gracelaced, on etsy. check it out. she is muy talented.

today.. i got to shoot my first movie star. :) this incredibly handsome young man is also a very talented young actor, with a movie coming out soon! (more on that later). his family are dear old friends of mine whom i adore. it was so good to catch up with them this afternoon as we froze together in the cold! AND i got a cup of hot chai out of it. who can beat that? here's one for now, joneses, because my computer is acting up and clearly does not want me post processing any more images this evening.

man, was this HARD! we got so many great nominations, but when i read this one, i just knew.

i have known this family for awhile, but not nearly as well as i would like. this little boy has been through more trials and tests and surgeries and SCARES than many adults. and if you have kids, you know how hard this is on parents. the testing, the waiting, is it good news? bad news? this has been this family's life since this angel boy was born. and the testing and the surgeries have no end in sight at this point.

every little girl LOVES to twirl. it's just in us. even at 33, i love the feel of a twirly skirt. and every girl, little or big, is continually asking "am i beautiful? am i lovely? do you think so?" it's in our hearts. i did a four year old session with my very own little girl today and couldn't stop telling her how beautiful and lovely she is. these moments are fleeting. trying my best to capture them.

this one is for my mom. she taught her how to wink. ;) and she is VERY proud of her newfound skill.

while it is true that i am taking a break to be super pregnant and have a third baby, i cannot turn down newborns. i love them. this sweet boy is lucky for many reasons: he has some awesome parents, who are friends of ours; his abuela from mexico knitted this BEAUTIFUL blue blanket for him; his ridiculously long eyelashes; and.. look at that hair. i have not had a newborn yet with this much hair. so. fun. if his daddy weren't there i might have just put a bow in it and taken a picture. ;)

this baby girl was the sleepiest newborn i've had yet. this is the FIFTH sweet baby born to one of my friends and/sister in law in the last couple months! i'm in newborn heaven! stella was 13 days old during our session and her mother and i worried that she may not be sleepy enough. but i tell you what, this girl was a champ. and she's absolutely beautiful just like her momma. congrats maila and brian. :) (also, stella is the cousin of the darling boy a few posts down, entitled "sweet baby". don't they look alike just a little!)

i like to call this one "peace."

i love newborns. love 'em. and this one, like the last, is especially precious to me. again, this boy is the son of one my dear friends. (i don't really have many friends that aren't having babies at the moment for some reason. :)) this little guy was prayed over and prayed over, and was born 5 weeks early. he's teensy. tiny. and so so cute. i wanted to just stare at him, and then remembered that i was supposed to take pictures of him. love him.

this sweet lady in the blue is the mother of some dear friends of mine. she was diagnosed with ALS around a year ago and you just wouldn't believe the faith and strength that she and her children exude. i was blessed to be able to capture them this morning in their backyard. they had a mimosa ready for me! her sisters came over, and we got to shoot her with her son and daugher, daughter-in-law and both sisters. i had such a great time conversing as we shot and i was truly blessed. hope you like this sneak peek guys. thanks for letting me spend the morning with you...

that's right. i took a pic. and posted it. but shortly after this second one i ran and scooped this little guy up in my arms and saved him from the giant roaring lion, i mean, small yappy dog. this is an all too common scene with my kids, because they are BOTH absolutely horrified of dogs. big ones, little ones, it doesn't matter. now, in their defense, they are both allergic, so they kind of have a reason. all that said, now that i know this little guy is safe from the monster, it kind of made for a funny image. :) one that i HOPE he will laugh at 10 years from now.

this angel face kiddo is my cousin's little guy, and boy do my cousin and i have something in common. my 1 year old and her 1 year old have a very limited diet. three things they can both have (the only things my son can have, and ALMOST the only things her son can have) are chicken, sweet potatoes and rice. we went back home to texas last week, and i can't tell you how neat it was to go out to dinner and have grayson share his special little homemade meal with his cousin, who had to eat the same boring stuff. i almost cried a little. anyhoo, cooper is absolutely too cute for words, as were the other several cousins we got to play with while we were there. my hometown is a mecca for cool run down stuff so i had to take the kids out and bribe them with hypoallergenic dum dums to get them to let me shoot them. and i'm glad we did. :) cooper, your special trader joe's non cornstarch rice crispy treats are on their way from albuquerque to you!

not my second cousin, or third. but my sweet little new first cousin, avery. a state separates us, (as well as age...) so when i went back home to texas this weekend, i finally got to meet her (and several other little second cousins i hadn't met!). and i love her. she just melts my heart. she was an angel for our mini session. (i will hopefully post more soon). i took her to a very run down church, where my parents were married in our hometown and i think it worked out perfectly. lots of brick, broken stain glass, you know, super safe for kids. :) anyways, little avery, i had so much fun getting to meet you and snuggle you! and i can't wait to see you again! hope you like your sneak peek!! and might i add, that YES, we were in bow country. texas. i have tried HARD to find fun obnoxious bows for my "would be" texan daughter, to no avail. HOWEVER, i have some on order now. :) they aren't quite this big, as she is three and would not wear them, but they're big enough.

my "not so little" brother

i really can't believe this kid is 15. a freshman. at my alma mater. i remember very vividly the night my parents told me that birth control isn't always effective. enter taylor. i was 16, my other brother chris was 14, and we were pretty much shocked. SHOCKED. i had always hoped for another sibling, you know, when i was five. so finding out when you're a junior in high school that your mom is pregnant is just weird. aren't they too old for that by then? ha. apparently not. needless to say, this little guy was the DELIGHT of our lives when he was born. we were so much older than him that chris and i kind of were like his "other parents". as a matter of fact, more than once, a store clerk asked if he was "ours". um GROSS, we would reply. i absolutely could not possibly imagine life without him. thank you Lord that birth control doesn't always work, and we get little surprise taylors out of it. i'm not kidding, this kid is amazing. he is sweet, kind, gentle and amazing with my kids. best babysitter EVER. he ADORES his three nieces and one nephew and would spend every waking moment babysitting them if he could. ok, not EVERY waking moment. just some of them. anyway, here's to you little brother. you are growing into an amazing God fearing man, just like you big bro and your dad. and now you can change your facebook pic to something a little more recent. :)

we adore this family. they have been friends for a long time. and i have to say, i was so delighted to find at least one where both these crazy beautiful kids were looking right at me! dad took us for a RIDE on their snazzy new golf cart to get their pics done all over a beautiful course. it was SO fun for me, and a little chilly on the way back. that thing hauls. thanks for a wonderful evening guys... more to come... eventually...

this is the precious 7 day old cousin of the boys in the last post (spiders don't smile). and you will not believe me when i tell you what this munchkin can do. look at him! he is SMILING at his mom! at SEVEN days old! ON PURPOSE! i know you don't believe me but i'm so serious. he was a TRIP. and then, as if that wasn't enough, he was laying on his little blanky, and i said "hey little guy, are you gonna laugh for me?" AND. HE. DID. clear as day. the tiny boy laughed. i really think someone should call ripley's on this one... congrats sarah and chris, he is so beautiful. and the most well mannered newborn i think i've ever witnessed. not to mention, the most advanced!

said this little one to the photographer. these little princes are the boys of my best friend of 14 to 18 years. ( we had a 4 year love/hate relationship- 15 year olds.. what do ya do...) i had the priviledge to get my camera all over her kiddos, except that it was all of a 12 minute shoot before everyone lost interest. and remember, spiders don't smile. and he wouldn't! but man he's handsome anyway. it really didn't matter.
i am having a really hard time deciding which processing i like the most. this next set are black and white...and these have a bit of a vintage feel, which i am liking alot lately. i decided to post all three because i am extremely indecisive at present...

FULL of life and energy. not a dull moment was had during this shoot! they each had very exact faces they wanted to make for the pictures and i think the "individual" pics were their favorites to have done! thanks guys for being patient with me, as i was shooting with a different camera!! happy travels back to the big apple!

not sure what it is about this one, but i like it. i think my mom would wonder why in the world i took a picture of the bottom of his shoes, but it just kinda reminds me of the stage he's in now. he will soon sit no more. and will be running everywhere as fast as he can. this just reminds me of the days when he contemplated mobility...

here are more from the newborn twin session. sally and asher, these boys are too much! the more i go through these images, the more i want to come back and snug them!! so cute. i think in this one, little e is telling little b how he feels about this new world. he's saying "and then, when those big people make those faces at us and talk in high voices, i can't figure out what they're saying at all!"

and in this one, check out the proper coverage with the flailing foot. nice work little ones. saves me some inappropriate editing. :) i also love that they are sharing the same fist for a snack. i love the twin connection.

for the life of me, i can't figure it out. i had the privilege of photographing some brand new baby boy twins today, their mommy is a dear friend of mine. i will be posting more from this session later, but i could not believe how teeeeeeeeensy they were and i just wanted to post a pacifier picture to prove it. :) these little guys were absolutely adorable. just 4.5 and 5.5 pounds (ish). so teeny. congratulations sally and asher. they're perfectly perfect.

boy was this kid a TROOPER! we did this shoot in the morning and still it was so hot outside! but this one smiled and posed for me for a good while! and boy did he love the fishes and the frogs. isn't he beautiful? when i asked where he got his good looks, he smiled and pointed to his mommy, and i think he's RIGHT on that one. she's gorgeous. here's your preview megan! i'll post more later for ya.

i grew up with tons of cousins, on my mom AND my dad's side of the family. and i loved it. i still keep in contact with most of my cousins on a fairly regular basis. and its getting better now that we rely so heavily on the internet for everything. ha. anyway, i captured this back in november, of these two little cousins, just takin' a walk. older boy cousin leading younger girl cousin down the path. sweet little kiddos.

i took the one of my girl awhile ago, and my boy, just this week, but just purchased some actions by this amazing photographer (actions by brenda) and i think i really like the effect. ellen, you and i were just talking about this, what do you think? kind of a different feel... might be a teeny bit blown out on the light side, but i can fix that if need be.
